JAWS

Also known as: Job Access With Speech

A commercial screen reader for Windows developed by Freedom Scientific (now part of Vispero). JAWS is one of the most widely used screen readers in professional and enterprise settings, providing text-to-speech and braille output for blind and low-vision users. It supports web browsers, Microsoft Office, PDF documents, and many other applications. JAWS uses a virtual buffer to represent web page content, which can cause issues with dynamically updated content such as Ajax-driven interfaces where changes may not be automatically detected.
