Embossed Graphics
Also known as: Embossed Tactile Graphics, Raised Graphics
Tactile graphics produced by a braille embosser or similar device that creates raised dots and lines on heavy paper or card stock. Embossed graphics are one of the most common methods for producing tactile representations of visual information for blind and visually impaired users. While widely used in education and accessible publishing, embossed graphics have limitations including degradation over time with repeated use, limited texture variety (primarily raised dots at different spacings), and dependence on specialized, often expensive equipment.
