Gesture Recognition
Also known as: Gesture Detection
The computational process of identifying and interpreting human gestures—typically hand, arm, or body movements—using sensors and machine learning algorithms. Gesture recognition systems analyze data from cameras, accelerometers, gyroscopes, or other sensors to classify movements into predefined commands. In assistive technology, gesture recognition enables alternative input methods for users who cannot effectively use traditional interfaces like keyboards, mice, or touchscreens.
