Mobile Accessibility

Also known as: Mobile A11y

The practice of ensuring that mobile applications, websites, and devices are usable by people with disabilities. Mobile accessibility encompasses touchscreen interaction for blind and motor-impaired users, responsive design for various screen sizes and orientations, compatibility with mobile screen readers (VoiceOver, TalkBack), appropriate touch target sizes, and support for alternative input methods. Mobile platforms present unique accessibility challenges compared to desktop, including smaller screens, reliance on gestures, lack of physical keyboards, and variable usage contexts.
