Computer Vision

Also known as: CV, Machine Vision

A field of artificial intelligence that enables computers to interpret, understand, and extract information from visual data including images and videos. Computer vision technologies—such as object detection, image segmentation, scene recognition, and optical character recognition—are increasingly applied in accessibility to automatically analyze and adapt visual content. Applications include generating image descriptions for blind users, detecting visual elements in videos for customization, recognizing sign language, and identifying navigation landmarks in indoor spaces.
