VR Controllers
Also known as: Virtual Reality Controllers, Motion Controllers
Handheld input devices used to interact with virtual reality environments, typically requiring users to grip, hold, and manipulate buttons, triggers, and joysticks. Standard VR controllers present significant accessibility barriers for users with limited hand strength, reduced grip, upper limb impairments, or conditions requiring wheelchair use (where holding controllers prevents operating the wheelchair). Controllers typically require bimanual operation, fine motor control, and sustained grip, making them inaccessible for many physically disabled users. Alternative input methods such as hand tracking, adaptive controllers, and external input devices are emerging as accessibility solutions.
