Natural Language Interface

Also known as: NLI, Natural Language User Interface

A user interface that allows people to interact with technology using everyday language rather than specialized commands, menus, or graphical controls. Natural language interfaces can improve accessibility by reducing the learning curve for technology use, supporting users with cognitive or motor disabilities who may find traditional interfaces challenging, and enabling interaction through speech or text input. Generative AI chatbots represent a significant evolution of natural language interfaces.
