Data Transparency

Also known as: Data Processing Transparency

The practice of clearly communicating to users what data is collected, how it is processed, where processing occurs (on-device vs. cloud), how data is stored, and who has access to it. In accessibility contexts, blind users have expressed strong desires to understand data handling in visual assistance technologies, particularly whether their images are processed locally or sent to external servers, and what types of data are used to train AI models powering these tools.
