Split-Tap Gesture
Also known as: Split Tap
A two-finger touchscreen gesture where one finger holds position on an object while a second finger taps elsewhere on the screen to activate or select it. Originally developed for the Slide Rule screen reader, the split-tap gesture was adopted by mobile screen readers like VoiceOver and TalkBack as a way for blind users to first explore what is on screen (with the first finger) and then act on it (with the second finger tap). In accessible VR, the split-tap triggers detailed audio descriptions of the object currently being touched by the first finger.
