Digital Audio Workstation
Also known as: DAW
Software used for recording, editing, mixing, and producing audio content, such as Reaper, Logic Pro, Cubase, or Pro Tools. DAWs present significant accessibility challenges for blind and visually impaired users because their interfaces are heavily visual — featuring graphical representations of waveforms, frequency spectrums, mixing consoles, and effect parameters. BVI users typically access DAWs through screen readers, but this creates auditory channel conflict when the speech output competes with the music they are producing and evaluating.
