Equaliser

Also known as: EQ, Equalizer

An audio processing tool used in music production and sound engineering that adjusts the frequency content of an audio signal by boosting or cutting specific frequency ranges. Equalisers are controlled through parameters including frequency centre (which frequency to adjust), gain (how much to boost or cut), and bandwidth or Q value (how narrow or wide the affected range is). For blind music producers, accessing EQ information through screen readers is particularly challenging because sighted users can visually perceive the relationship between all parameters simultaneously, while screen readers present them linearly.
