eMaking
Also known as: Electronic Making, e-Making
A form of making that focuses on electronic and digital fabrication tools and activities, including 3D printing, laser cutting, programming microcontrollers, robotics, and working with electronic components such as LEDs, motors, and sensors. eMaking programs aim to build STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) skills through hands-on creative projects. In disability contexts, eMaking has been used to promote capability, self-expression, and social participation among people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, often supported by structured resource kits and specialist coaching.
