Content Domestication
Also known as: Media Domestication
The process of translating or adapting media content to meet the specific needs of a target audience during production rather than through post-hoc modifications. Originating from media studies and audiovisual translation, content domestication in accessibility involves influencing the creation process from an early stage to ensure content meets specific viewer needs from the outset, such as filming alternative camera angles or providing simplified language versions alongside the original content.
