Haptic Feedback
Also known as: Tactile Feedback, Haptics
Technology that communicates information through the sense of touch, using vibrations, pressure, or motion applied to the user's body. In accessibility, haptic feedback provides a non-visual, non-auditory channel for conveying alerts, navigation cues, or interface responses — particularly valuable when visual or auditory channels are unavailable or already occupied. Wearable haptic devices such as vibrating wristbands, smart canes, and belt-mounted actuators can guide navigation, signal obstacles, or confirm interactions without requiring the user to look at a screen or listen to audio.
