Usability Testing

Also known as: Usability Evaluation, User Testing

A research method in which representative users attempt realistic tasks with a product or prototype while researchers observe and collect data on effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction. In accessibility contexts, usability testing with people with disabilities is essential for identifying barriers that automated testing cannot detect, such as confusing screen reader navigation, unclear audio feedback, or difficulties with physical device interaction. Accessibility usability testing requires careful consideration of assistive technology compatibility, participant recruitment, and appropriate task design.
