Success Criteria

Also known as: Success Criterion, SC

The testable statements within the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) that define specific requirements for making web content accessible. Each success criterion is assigned a conformance level (A, AA, or AAA) indicating its priority. Success criteria are technology-agnostic descriptions of what must be achieved, while associated "sufficient techniques" and "failure conditions" describe specific ways to meet or fail each criterion. For example, Success Criterion 1.1.1 requires that all non-text content has a text alternative.
