Embedded Description

Also known as: Inline Description, Integrated Description

A technique for making presentation content accessible where the speaker verbally describes relevant visual information on slides — including text, images, graphics, and other visual aids — as part of their narration during the presentation itself. Unlike audio descriptions added after recording, embedded descriptions are woven into the live delivery, making visual content accessible in real time without pausing or extending the video. Accessibility guidelines recommend that presenters describe their slides as they present, though research shows speakers frequently fail to mention significant portions of slide content, particularly images.
