e-MAG

Also known as: Modelo de Acessibilidade em Governo Eletrônico, Electronic Government Accessibility Model

The Brazilian government accessibility model (Modelo de Acessibilidade em Governo Eletrônico) that establishes standards and guidelines for making government websites accessible to people with disabilities. First published in 2005 and updated through version 3.1, e-MAG is based on international standards including WCAG but adapted to the Brazilian context, incorporating requirements from Decree/Law 5,296/2004. It mandates that all Brazilian federal government websites comply with specific accessibility requirements, making it one of the earliest national government accessibility standards in Latin America.
