Motion History Image
Also known as: MHI
A computer vision technique that represents motion in video sequences as a single grayscale image, where pixel intensity indicates recency of movement. Brighter pixels represent more recent motion while darker pixels show older movement patterns. In accessibility applications, MHI is used to recognize gestures for alternative input methods, enabling people with motor impairments to control computers through personalized body movements captured via standard webcams.
