Motor Coordination
Also known as: Movement Coordination, Coordination
The ability to integrate sensory information and muscle movements to perform smooth, accurate, and controlled physical actions. Motor coordination encompasses both gross motor skills (large body movements like walking) and fine motor skills (precise hand and finger movements). Coordination difficulties are associated with conditions including autism spectrum disorder, developmental coordination disorder (dyspraxia), cerebral palsy, and stroke. In accessible technology design, motor coordination challenges may require larger touch targets, alternative input methods, or reduced precision requirements for interaction.
