RFID
Also known as: Radio Frequency Identification, RFID Tag
A technology that uses electromagnetic fields to automatically identify and track tags attached to objects. RFID tags contain electronically stored information that can be read by RFID readers without line-of-sight contact. In accessibility applications, RFID enables physical objects to be linked to digital information — for example, tactile icons with embedded RFID chips can represent applications or files, allowing blind users to interact with computing systems through physical manipulation rather than keyboard commands.
