Goodness of Pronunciation
Also known as: GOP, GOP Score
A computational measure used in automatic speech recognition to assess how closely a spoken utterance matches expected pronunciation patterns. GOP scores are calculated by comparing phone sequences from unrestricted ASR against forced alignment to the actual word sequence. In accessibility applications, GOP scoring enables automatic detection of pronunciation discrepancies in disordered speech, supporting clinical assessment and educational tools like reading tutors for students with speech differences.
