Assisted Photography
Also known as: Accessible Photography, Camera Aiming Assistance
Assisted photography refers to technologies and techniques that help people with visual impairments take photographs by providing non-visual feedback about camera aiming, composition, and image quality. These systems typically use computer vision to analyze the camera view and provide audio, haptic, or speech-based guidance to help users frame subjects properly. Approaches include speech-based directional cues, tone-based proximity indicators, face detection feedback, and automatic best-frame selection from continuous capture. Assisted photography enables blind and low vision users to participate in visual documentation, creative expression, and practical tasks like identifying objects or reporting accessibility barriers.
