Perceptual User Interface

Also known as: PUI, Natural User Interface

A human-computer interaction paradigm that uses natural human capabilities such as vision, speech, gestures, and body movement as input modalities rather than relying on traditional devices like keyboards and mice. Perceptual user interfaces leverage sensors and computer vision to interpret human actions, making computing more intuitive and accessible. For people with disabilities, perceptual interfaces can remove barriers imposed by conventional input devices by allowing interaction through whatever movements or expressions the user can reliably produce.
