Thermo Pen

Also known as: Thermal Pen, Heat Pen

A specialized drawing instrument that produces heat at its tip, used in conjunction with swell paper (microcapsule paper) to create instant raised-line tactile graphics. When the thermo pen is drawn across swell paper, the heat causes the microcapsules in the paper to expand along the drawn path, producing a tactile line that can be immediately felt by touch. This provides real-time tactile feedback during the drawing process, making it particularly valuable as a tool for blind users to create their own tactile drawings and explore them as they work, without needing to run the paper through a separate heat source.
