StickyKeys

Also known as: Sticky Keys

An operating system accessibility feature that allows users to press modifier keys (Shift, Ctrl, Alt/Option, Command) and have them remain active until the next key is pressed, rather than requiring simultaneous key presses. This eliminates the need to hold down one key while pressing another — a significant barrier for people who can only use one hand or one finger to type, or who have difficulty pressing multiple keys simultaneously. StickyKeys addresses what accessibility researchers call "dropping errors," where a modifier key is released before the modified key is pressed. The feature is available in Windows, macOS, and Linux, typically activated by pressing Shift five times consecutively.
