Keyword Extraction

Also known as: Key Term Extraction, Automatic Keyword Extraction

A natural language processing technique that automatically identifies the most important or representative words and phrases in a document. In accessibility, keyword extraction can provide blind users with a quick summary of a web page's topic without requiring them to listen to the entire page through a screen reader. By presenting extracted keywords, accessible browsers and reading tools allow users to rapidly assess whether a page is relevant to their information needs, significantly reducing the time and cognitive effort required for web browsing.
