Non-Visual Drawing
Also known as: Blind Drawing, Drawing Without Sight
The practice of creating graphical representations — such as diagrams, shapes, charts, or illustrations — without relying on visual feedback. Non-visual drawing can be accomplished through tactile methods (using raised line drawing kits or embossing tools), audio-tactile methods (combining touch with speech or sound feedback), or grid-based digital systems that use spatial references and voice output. A key challenge in non-visual drawing is providing adequate feedback about the current state of the drawing, including the location of previously drawn elements, line lengths, angles, and curvature. Effective non-visual drawing tools must compensate for the absence of the continuous visual feedback that sighted artists rely on.
