Adaptive Rendering

Also known as: Content Adaptation, Dynamic Rendering

The process of automatically modifying how web content is presented based on a user's needs, preferences, or device capabilities. Adaptive rendering can involve transformations such as adjusting layout, reformatting text, replacing images with alternative representations, modifying colour schemes, or converting content to different modalities like audio. In accessibility, adaptive rendering enables a single piece of content to be delivered in multiple accessible forms without requiring authors to create separate versions for each disability or assistive technology.
