jsPsych

An open-source JavaScript framework for building behavioural and HCI experiments that run in a web browser. jsPsych provides reusable plugins for common trial types (survey questions, Likert scales, multiple-choice, video playback, audio stimuli, best-worst scaling, timing-accurate response collection) and handles data collection, randomisation, and counterbalancing. It is widely used in accessibility research because it lowers the cost of running remote and large-scale studies, integrates with platforms like Prolific, and can be adapted for screen-reader compatibility with care. Many recent studies on captioning, typography, and multimodal accessibility have been conducted using jsPsych.
