Spastic Quadriplegia

Also known as: Spastic Tetraplegia

The most severe subtype of spastic cerebral palsy, characterised by stiff, tight muscles (spasticity) and significantly reduced voluntary movement in all four limbs and often the trunk. People with spastic quadriplegia commonly use powered wheelchairs and may rely on switch access, eye tracking, head tracking, or voice input for computing, as well as AAC for communication. Many also use shared-control setups to access video games and complex interactive software that are unreachable with a single standard controller.
