Emotional Intelligence Test

Also known as: EI Test, I-EQ Test, Emotional Intelligence Assessment

A hiring assessment that asks candidates to identify emotions in photographs of faces or to judge appropriate emotional responses in social scenarios. Emotional-intelligence tests are particularly inaccessible to blind and low-vision candidates, who may be unable to interpret the images at all, and they tend to produce low scores for autistic candidates and others whose social cognition follows non-typical patterns. Critics argue the construct is poorly defined and that the tests force applicants with disabilities to disclose their disability through their answers.
