PC-Talker
Also known as: PCTalker
A Windows screen reader developed by the Japanese company KGS Corporation, widely used by blind and low-vision users in Japan. PC-Talker provides speech output for Windows applications and the web and integrates with the companion Net Reader Neo browser tailored to Japanese-language content. It is commonly paired with JAWS, NVDA, or Narrator by Japanese users who need robust Japanese text-to-speech, and appears frequently in Japanese accessibility research as a participant-reported assistive technology. Practitioners building products for Japanese markets should test with PC-Talker in addition to global screen readers, as keyboard shortcuts, aria support, and table navigation behavior can differ from NVDA or JAWS.
